So You've Bought Item Upgrading ... Now What?

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having depend on costly trades or drops. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment grant an increase in the item's stats. The amount of bonus varies based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the quality of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. For instance, a specially designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, and the boost upgrade can enhance the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a different experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item receives when it is upgraded by that component. For instance, organic components give a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgrades are determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon that is 10th level. However, the most commonly used upgrade for weapons is a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that share the benefit of. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This may be important for certain types of weapons. Weapons aren't upgraded to give an increased maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good way to improve the value of some set and unique items, however it's important to remember that they may not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.

If the item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once and the guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item up, but the new item will offer various bonuses. Upgrades can be completed through the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time, using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

A player is able to roll any item they have acquired in the game if they have enough tokens to be able to do so. When an upgraded item gets to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent version at a level 1 of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for small amounts of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new upgraded item will still have the extra benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different also.

Players can alter the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and the attributes it requires. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who own the gear.

Players can also boost the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the upgrader NPC of the item. It will cost a specific amount of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item kind. For weapons, each step up will add five percent to the damage.

Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they can also reduce the quality of an item. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded in order to maximize their potential. For example, a player might want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to discover what it could be.

The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they can't otherwise obtain. These items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods aren't always willing to cooperate. The only alternative is to spend real money or grind extensively. Rerolling is  item upgrader  in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe this feature was designed to add some value to rare and expensive items. However, since the majority of equipment is replaced quickly, and it can only be upgraded by one level, you'll generally replace it before it becomes too old. It's also not worthwhile to  upgrade item s with gem sockets since the value of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

When you click the upgrade option on an item, you will see a small window with the upgrade template of the item as well as the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the level of the item. The cost will differ between weapons and armor and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It it also lists the current ilvl.

The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the current ilvl of the item and the upgrade template. In addition the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For example weapons with an increase of 8% will reduce its ilvl by 8 - 8 percent.

In addition to the increase in ilvl base, the item will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block and parry rating. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive when it is leveled can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these additional stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same is true for other armor pieces, such as circlets and tiaras.
